Our Services

1995 & 1996 :::: Best Exhibitor in local material sourcing & award winner for the best innovative technology – Nigeria Institute of Architects.

Our machines ,presses are simple to operate.thcy are mostly Manual/Mechanical Ensuring that they can be used in all locality in Nigeria . Most importantly they use all locally sourced Raw Materials/Local Labour and Locally Fabricated equipments to Achieve Affordable Low Cost Houses.

ADVANTAGES OF USING BOLYN EQUIPMENTS AND 100% LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS.

(a) A saving of between 20% to 50% is possible in Housing Construction (Walls,Flooring and Roofing)
(b) Materials for Construction are cheap OR can be obtained free from the site of Construction
(c) Interlocking Bricks require NO MORTAR to join the walls.
(d) All external walls require no Plastering as they remain Aesthetically pleasant and beautiful for life
(e) External Painting is not required for walls facing outside.
(f) Building Component are site fabricated thus removing Heavy cost of transportation of building components.
(g) A lot of Do-it yourself is possible thereby eliminating middlemen and profiteering by suppliers.

USE OF CEMENT – STABLISED LATERITE BRICKS

Laterite soil, the main materials used for the above is often cheaply or freely found while Cement for stabilisation (if needed) can be found in any market centre in Nigeria. House built with the above are durable, aesthetically pleasant, cool in summer, warm in winter and the production technique of these brick machines are easy to learn and they can be produced on the building site using local labour that is cheap.

The following Building components are capable of being made with the non-expensive simple hand operated manual/mechanical brick presses locally available:
(a) Lintel Bricks
(b) Floor Bricks (For Internal Flooring)
(c) WaIling Bricks (Dry stacked, Liquid Mortar and Normal Types Bricks)
(d) External Floor Paving Bricks.

NO CEMENT OR LEAST CEMENT CONTENT
OPTION (SOIL BLOCK)

Do not cement stabilise materials which are not to be exposed to water e.g. Protected Walls, Rendered Walls and Internal Walls which have been well designed. If this method is adopted, a House can be built cheaply. (See page 36 of Compress Earth Blocks, a 1994 Publication of the Centre for the Development of Industry, Belgium and CRATERRE
EAG, International Centre for Earth Construction, France).

SOUND ECONOMIC DESIGN

WALLS
The Architectural design should be economical and adopt minimal number of walls.

LINTEL
There is a channel Brick produced from the Brick Press that can be used instead of the Conventional Gravel Sand Cement and Reinforced Steel Rod Lintel. This have the ability to save materials, formwork and construction time. This channel Brick uses Sand-Cement Mortar – Light re-inforcement with minimal formwork.

FLOOR BRICK (INTERNAL)
Floor Bricks using Cement Laterite Bricks are capable of being used to substitute concrete flooring called German concrete floor. This ought to result in some savings and it can be produced from a simple Brick Press on Building sites.

ROOFING WORK
(a) A saving in cost of Roof Cladding is achievable if Fibre- Concrete Roofing Tiles are produced on the site and adopted.

(b) However a roof design that will eliminate expensive roof trusses is possible as wooden purlin could be supported by load bearing side walls of the house. The design of the Roof Structure must take this into account.

SITE PRODUCTION OF BUILDING COMPONENTS

Substantial savings are derivable from producing Building Components on the Building Site as lots of cost of transportation are heavily reduced. Quality of products produced on site can also be monitored and supervision made easier.

WE PROVIDE TRAINING FOR UNSKILLED & SEMI-SKILLED LABOUR

It is best to use young school leavers who are unskilled or semi-skilled, who will be trained to adopt a culture of hardwork. diligence and efficiency. This crop of people will accept a moderate fee. They are not likely to be lazy, pretenders and exploiters like the skilled labour who are less teachable. There are easy to learn, simple to operate and build technologies of Housing available for introduction. Skilled workers should be engaged for special work and general supervision.

DIRECT LABOUR AND TASK WORKMEN

It should be possible to pay each worker per his daily accomplishment, this way truancy is reduced, laziness and performing shoddy work is controlled All aspect of the works available in a House can be rated and Labour/Workmen engaged to carry out the works can be paid by what they achieve individually or in a group. A contractor will definitely ask for over 150% to 200% actual labour charges.

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION – LIQUID MORTAR IN BRICK HOLES AS WALLING COMPONENT

A modified Brick Press is available for producing a cement stabilised block/brick that can be laid dryly and are automatically inter-aligned (i.e) Lay 10 Nos. courses before grouting with sand-cement. This technology can be neat, fast, saving up to 30% of the mortar required to join conventional walls. The technology is easy to learn by the unskilled labour.

MANUALLY OPERATED BRICK PRESSES

We have in the Nigeria market inexpensive/tested manually operated Brick Presses that offer a compression on Bricks that are capable of being used for up to 2 (two) storey Buildings. They produce the following types of Bricks:

(a) Cinva Ram Bricks (Standard Brick).
(b) Dry stacked Bricks (No-Mortar Joint) Interlocking.
(c) Liquid Mortar Interlocking Bricks.
(d) Paving Bricks (External Floors).
(e) Floor Bricks (Internal Floors).
(f) Lintel Bricks (Channel Bricks).

The following are the advantages of the Manual/Mechanical Brick Presses:¬
(a) Low Investment Cost.
(b) Small size and Light weight that can easily be transported from site to site.
(c) Locally manufactured (No import) and easily repairable by local welders.
(d) Although labour intensive, yet it offers an energy saving production process.
(e) Easy maintenance and easy to operate.
